Feedstock, for fixed-bed gasification with solid or liquid slag discharge to produce crude gas and liquid hydrocarbons, comprises 1-50% oil shale, up to 50% coal and up to 80% organic waste. The oil shale (caustobiolith) has a particle size of 5-150 mm, an organic content of 5-50%, a moisture content of 5-20%, a heating value of more than 4 MJ/kg and an ash content of 20-60%, more than 30% of the mineral content being calcium carbonate.
