<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ink for inkjet recording (IJI) which is excellent in dispersion stability and delivery stability, gives an image excellent in fastness, mar resistance, and color developing properties, and can give a record with a high print density and a hardly bleeding image; a microencapsulated pigment (MCP) capable of preparing the above ink and its production method; and an aqueous dispersion. <P>SOLUTION: Pigment particles having anionic groups on the surface are coated with a polymer comprising repeating structural units derived from a cationically polymerizable surfactant and repeating structural units derived from an anionically polymerizable surfactant and/or a hydrophilic monomer having an anionic group, giving the microencapsulated pigment (MCP). In the production process of the microencapsulated pigment, the cationically polymerizable surfactant is added to and mixed with an aqueous dispersion of the pigment particles having anionic groups on the surface; then, the anionically polymerizable surfactant and/or the hydrophilic monomer having an anionic group are added thereto; and the mixture is emulsified, followed by adding a polymerization initiator and carrying out emulsion polymerization.
