<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ink for inkjet recording (IJI) which is excellent in dispersion stability and delivery stability, gives an image excellent in fastness, mar resistance, and color developing properties, and gives a record with a high print density and a hardly bleeding image; a microencapsulated pigment (MCP) capable of producing the above ink and its production method; and an aqueous dispersion. <P>SOLUTION: The MCP is produced by coating pigment particles having hydrophilic groups on the surface with a polymer by a mini-emulsion polymerization method. In the method for producing the MCP by coating the pigment particles having hydrophilic groups on the surface with the polymer, the polymer is yielded by a mini-emulsion polymerization method in the presence of the pigment particles.
