INFRARED COMMUNICATION UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared communication unit capable of preventing troubles due to light emitted from an infrared light emitting device in the infrared communication unit.

SOLUTION: In the infrared communication unit comprising an infrared light emitting device transmitting specified information by infrared signals, an optical filter 10 damping more visible light components than the infrared component being emitted from the infrared light emitting device is arranged in the passage of infrared light 9 being irradiated toward the direction of a viewer 7 so that the viewer 7 does not recognize the visible light components being emitted from a light emitting diode array 8. A reflector 51 reflecting infrared light emitted from the light emitting diode array 8 may be arranged in place of the optical filter 10. The infrared light emitting device is preferably arranged in a dark place.
