<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system in which a correcting position is not conspicuous when an image is corrected, and to provide a printer. <P>SOLUTION: The printing system scans a printed sheet desired to be corrected in the printer having an image reading unit and obtains image data. The printing system separates a foreground and a background, and corrects the foreground. After correcting information correcting the foreground is held, the foreground and the background are synthesized, and printing information is obtained.
