<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing ethers industrially advantageously by reacting a conjugated diene and an alcohol via telomerization. <P>SOLUTION: Ethers are produced by reacting the conjugated diene with the alcohol via telomerization in the presence of a palladium compound, the isocyanide represented by the general formula (I): R<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>R<SP>3</SP>CNC (wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>may be same or different from one another and are each a (substituted) alkyl group, a (substituted) alkenyl group or the other or two of them may form a cycloalkyl group together with a carbon atom to be bonded to them) and the base represented by the general formula (II): M(OR<SP>4</SP>)<SB>n</SB>(wherein M is an alkali metal, an alkaline-earth metal or an onium; R<SP>4</SP>is a hydrogen atom, a (substituted) alkyl group, a (substituted) alkenyl group or the like; n is 1 when M is the alkali metal or the onium or is 2 when M is the alkaline-earth metal). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
