<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-quality processed image while reducing computational complexity when compressing a dynamic range of an image. <P>SOLUTION: A compression table creation unit 23 creates first and second compression tables T1, T2. A first compression processing unit 24 creates a blurred image S2' of an image S2, refers to the first compression table T1 and calculates a correction amount of the dynamic range from the blurred image S2', thereby compressing the dynamic range of the image S2 and obtaining an intermediate processed image S3.
