<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which is free from black bands or deformation though being large-sized and thin, and a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical film manufacturing method, at least one surface of a transparent long-sized base film having a first knurling part at a film end is coated with an optical functional layer including a hard coat layer.
