PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil returning structure for an engine for making oil smoothly flow into a crank chamber without hitting side faces of a crank web while reducing the size of a pulsar cover in the vertical direction. SOLUTION: A chain tunnel 27 for housing a chain 24 for driving a camshaft 17 is formed on the side edge of the engine E, and the oil returning passage 33, for returning oil inside the chain tunnel 27 into the crank chamber 8 near the edge in the radial direction of the crank web 38, is formed on the crankcase end wall 10 partitioning the lower edge of the chain tunnel 27 and the crank chamber 8. The oil return passage 33 has a first return hole 34 in the vertical direction provided on the crankcase end wall 10, and a second returning hole 35 in the horizontal direction provided on the crankcase end wall 10 and communicating the lower edge of the first returning hole 34 with the crank chamber 8.
