PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering damper device equipped with a desirable damping characteristic so that a gradually incremental damping force is generated in accordance with the steering angle when a steering wheel is turned and no damping force is generated when the steering wheel is returned, by forming the damper device from a low-cost cylindrical damper of simple structure. SOLUTION: The steering damper device includes the cylindrical damper 10 installed between a head pipe 6h to support a steering stem 5 rotatably and a fork bridge 4 of a front fork 2 in such an arrangement as to become shortest when the steering wheel is in the neutral position, wherein the cylindrical damper 10, the head pipe 6h, and the fork bridge 4 are coupled together through spherical joints 13 and 14. The cylindrical damper 10 is formed so as to generate a damping force when it is elongated, and arranged as elongating to generate damping force in whichever direction the steering wheel is turned, to the left or right.
