PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material which suppresses fogging caused by enhanced sensitivity and ensures small increase in fog even when stored under severe conditions such as high temperature and high humidity. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material contains at least one compound selected from the following types (1)-(3); type (1): a compound which is represented by formula (1) and of which one-electron oxidized derivative produced by oxidation of a reducing group (X1) in its molecule is capable of releasing one or more electrons with nucleophilic addition reaction of a nucleophilic group (Nu) in its molecule to the one-electron oxidized derivative; type (2): a compound which is represented by formula (2) or formula (3) and of which one-electron oxidized derivative produced by one-electron oxidation of a reducing group (X2) is capable of releasing one or more electrons with desorption reaction of a desorption group (Z1) from the one-electron oxidized derivative; type (3): a compound which is represented by formula (4) and has no covalently bonded base in its molecule and of which one-electron oxidized derivative produced by one electron oxidation of the compound is capable of releasing one or more electrons with desorption of a proton from the one-electron oxidized derivative.
