PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing with magnetic encoder and bearing for wheels which are compact in constitution, sure in sensing for rotation detection, capable of improving reliability, superior in durability of the magnetic encoder for rotation detection, friction resistivity and productivity. SOLUTION: The magnetic encoder 10 is provided to a rotary bearing in which a rotor 3 is placed in between track surfaces 1a and 2a where an inner member 1 and an outer member 2 are facing. The magnetic encoder 10 has a multiple pole magnet 14 in which magnetic poles are formed by turns in the circumferential direction and a core metal 11 supporting the multiple pole magnet 14. The multiple pole magnet 14 is made of a sintered body by sintering mixture powder of magnetic powder and nonmagnetic metal powder. The magnetic encoder 10 is attached by fitting the core metal 11 with a rotation side wheel among the inner member 1 and the outer member 2. Also, the magnetic encoder 10 is arranged in a space inside the end surface of the fixed side member 2 among the inner member 2 and the outer member 2 and between the inner member 1 and the outer member 2.
