PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilization device capable of performing sterilization of Legionella pneumophilla by the use of chlorine dioxide without generating chlorine dioxide odor. SOLUTION: The sterilization device for performing the sterilization of water equipment is equipped with a water tank 10 and a circulation part 12, 16 for supplying purified water to the water tank 10 after purifying the water discharged from the inside of the water tank 10. Further, the sterilization device is provided with a chlorine dioxide supply means 22 for supplying chlorine dioxide to a position of the lower stream from the inlet 11 of the circulation part 12, 16 and a neutralizer supply means 24 for supplying a neutralizer of chlorine dioxide to a position of the lower stream from the position where chlorine dioxide is supplied by the chlorine dioxide supply means 22 and of the upper stream from the outlet of the circulation part 12, 16.
