PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge recovery apparatus having a high sludge recovery efficiency and requiring neither large drive system nor much labor for maintenance and/or management. SOLUTION: This apparatus is for recovery of sludge sedimented in a settling basin 1 and has two nozzles 40 and 40 arranged along the bottom of the basin 1 in a reciprocating way. A suction inlet 41 of each nozzle 40 is made to face the bottom of the basin 1 in order to suck sludge sedimented on the bottom of the basin 1. A discharge pipe 8 communicating with the inlet 41 of each nozzle 40 through a hose 7 is arranged in a sludge recovery chamber 12 isolated from the basin 1. The pipe 8 has an opening 80 in the upper-end part and is supported by a rise-and-fall drive mechanism 9 so that the height of the opening 80 can be adjusted in relation to the water level h of the basin 1.
