The high pressure fuel tank (12) is supplied with fuel by a high pressure pump (26) that is driven by an electric motor (28). The method involves a control observation system providing an actual value for the pressure, whereby a measurement vector of the observation system has at least one electrical parameter of the electric motor as an input parameter. An independent claim is also included for a device for regulating the injection pressure in a high pressure fuel tank of a direct injection gas engine.
