<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cumene characterized by comprising efficiently converting unreacted cumene hydroperoxide into the objective cumene in a method for producing propylene oxide comprising converting propylene into the propylene oxide using as an oxygen carrier cumene hydroperoxide obtained from cumene while using the cumene repeatedly. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing cumene from a cumene hydroperoxide-containing cumyl alcohol comprises the steps described below: The cumene hydroperoxide hydrogenation step, which comprises converting cumene hydroperoxide contained in cumyl alcohol into cumyl alcohol in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst.
