PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce open circuit voltage at a low temperature in good condition, and to enable start-up of a fuel cell while surely detecting presence of reactive gas leak.
SOLUTION: Using as a set temperature the temperature that the open circuit voltage becomes a predetermined value, when the temperature of a fuel cell stack 12 is not higher than the set temperature, bimetals 52 are closed. Therefore, in the state that current does not flow through an external load 17, the output voltage (open circuit voltage) of each generating cell 14 is reduced to the predetermined value. On that occasion, if a large degree of cross leak occurs in any generating cell 14, the output voltage of the generating cell 14 drops, and so the output voltage of the generating cell 14, which occurs the reactive gas leak, becomes relatively lower compared with the output voltage of a normal generating cell 14.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
