<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal transmitting apparatus which is easily manufactured and in which light quantity is accurately controlled. <P>SOLUTION: An optical signal transmitting apparatus 10 is provided with a surface emitting type semiconductor laser 30 which is mounted on a circuit board 28, an optical fiber 22 to which emitted light beams emitted from the surface emitting type semiconductor laser 30 are made incident and a monitor light receiving element 32 which receives reflected light beams reflected by an incident end face 22S of the optical fiber 22. The shape of the incident end face 22S is determined so that the reflected light beams are diffused from the incident end face. Thus, the light receiving element 32 is enough to be arranged at a position within a region where the diffused light beams arrive. It is therefore unnecessary to adjust the rotational angle position around a central axis of the optical fiber 22 when positioning of an incident end section 22I of the optical fiber 22 is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
