<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display operation system for applying a reaction force to the instructing part of an operation device through bi-directional communication between the operation device and the device main body including a display device, wherein an operator is prevented from feeling sense of incompatibility as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: When a screen A is switched to a screen B, an operation device 7 receives reaction data B corresponding to the screen B, and then validates the reaction data B after the lapse of a delay time corresponding to the type of the screen B or the data quantity of image data. Thus, it is possible to validate the reaction data B synchronously with the plotting of the screen B.
