METHOD FOR DETECTION OF HYPOXIA RESPONSE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a genetically engineered cell and a genetically engineered animal capable of monitoring hypoxia response of a cell by preparing a vector detecting the hypoxia response and then expressing the same.

SOLUTION: The invention relates to construction of a new expression cassette of hypoxia response by utilizing a hypoxia responsive element (HRE). The cell holding the expression cassette expresses an exotic gene by the hypoxia response. The hypoxia response of a cell is detected by using an expression of an exotic gene as an indicator. Thus the invention provides the method for screening compounds having hypoxia response regulating effect.
