PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification sensor and an identification device having high identification reliability and a highly precise identification function to an object even if a surface configuration of the object is displaced. SOLUTION: This identification sensor 2 is provided with a plurality of optical elements E1, E2, and E3 receiving light from a surface configuration 6 of the object 4. The respective optical elements are arranged at predetermined intervals for securing sensing areas W1, W2, and W3, which are directed in the transverse direction across the scanning direction S1, widely in the width direction. The identification device is provided with a slip detection means 10 detecting a print slip on the surface configuration of the object surface from the respective electric signals outputted from a plurality of optical elements in scanning by the identification sensor along the object, an optical element selection means 12 selecting a specific optical element from a plurality of optical elements based on the detection result by the slip detection means, and a determination identification means 14 determining whether the electric signal from the selected specific optical element is within a previously registered tolerance range or not for identifying the object.
