PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image correction data calculation method of an image display apparatus in which an image is observed in an optimum quality according to an observation position. SOLUTION: A test pattern is projected on a screen of the image display apparatus and a test pattern photographing data is acquired by photographing the projected test pattern by a photographing means from a predetermined photographing position and the test pattern photographing data is transformed to a characteristics data obtained when the test pattern is photographed from a predetermined observation position different from the predetermined photographing position based on a transformation function calculated beforehand and the image correction data for correcting display characteristics of the image display apparatus based on the characteristics data is calculated.
