PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape measure, having a shaft to be simply and easily installed in a case at the best time in the flow of assembly, with the shaft used for supporting a rotating drum. SOLUTION: An opening 3 is provided in a sidewall of the case 2 of a tape measure 1, and a shaft 5 for supporting a rotating drum 16 is erected on a lid body 4 fittable into the opening 3.
