PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of obtaining power saving effect by changing layout and structure of a cooler, a refrigerant compressor and a control and power source board to reduce thermal loss of the cooler and to improve heat insulating efficiency and heat radiating efficiency of a machine room and a condenser. SOLUTION: The refrigerator is formed of the machine room 14 formed in a lower part of a back surface of a refrigerator main body, a refrigerant compressor 12 provided inside the machine room with a displacement to one side in the cross direction, and the cooler 9 for receiving the refrigerant from the refrigerant compressor to cool inside a storage chamber. The cooler is arranged inside the refrigerator through a heat insulating wall 3a of a main body over the refrigerant compressor arranged in one side of the machine room at an opposite position in the cross direction in relation to the compressor, and the control and power source board 21 for the refrigerator is arranged in the other wide space of the refrigerant compressor in the cross direction inside the machine room.
