PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow-down type ice making machine capable of evenly melting ice in an ice eliminating mode over the whole of the ice formed in an ice making surface of an ice making plate in an ice making mode by improving a method of making a high-temperature and high-pressure compressed refrigerant to flow into an evaporator in the ice eliminating mode. SOLUTION: In the ice eliminating mode of the ice making machine, the compressed refrigerant flowing from a hot gas valve 100 into an upper edge side flow passage 42 of each ice making plate flows zigzag in each flow passage positioned in an upper half of a plurality of flow passages of each ice making plate, and flows to one of both central flow passages 42 of each ice making plate. The compressed refrigerant flowing from the hot gas vale 100 into a lower edge side flow passage 42 of each ice making plate flows zigzag in each flow passage positioned in a lower half of the plurality of flow passages of each ice making plate, and flows in the other of both the central flow passages 42.
