PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device for reciprocating motion which prevents leakage of liquid fluid from a sealing element (seal) and suction of outside air from the sealing element (seal) by reducing pressure fluctuation in annular space formed between a guide bush and the sealing element (seal) caused by reciprocating motion of a piston rod in a reciprocating motion machine element. SOLUTION: The sealing device for reciprocating motion is provided with a means by which fluid liquid 4 flowing in and out of an annular space formed between a guide bush 5 and a sealing element (seal) 6 in accordance with reciprocating movement of a piston rod 3 flows in and out to the outside of the annular space formed between the guide bush 5 and the sealing element (seal) 6. The sealing device suppresses pressure fluctuation in the annular space formed between the guide bush 5 and the sealing element (seal) 6 caused by inflow/outflow of the fluid liquid 4 in the annular space formed between the guide bush 5 and the sealing element (seal) 6 in accordance with the reciprocating motion of the piston rod 3.
