PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently restrict vibration of a counter shaft in axial and circumferential directions, and perform initial adjustment to a clutch release mechanism without irregularity by means of compact constitution with a high degree of layout freedom. SOLUTION: This transmission device is provided with the counter shaft 42 journaled to a pair of bearings in an engine case, a clutch device provided on the counter shaft 42 to transmit power of a crankshaft to the counter shaft, and an energization means to energize the counter shaft to the engine case on one side of the axial direction. An energization direction F2 of the counter shaft 42 by the energization means coincides with a pressure direction F1 of the clutch release mechanism for disconnecting the clutch device. A favorable form of the energization means comprises a wave washer 95 elastically installed between an inner race 45a of a bearing 45 supporting the counter shaft 42 and a step part 42a of the counter shaft 42.
