Disclosed is a guide rail (1) of a linear guideway on which a guide carriage (2) can be mounted so as to be movable in a longitudinal direction. Said guide rail (1) comprises a bottom side by means of which the guide rail (1) can be disposed on a mounting surface (3) and two opposite longitudinal sides that are provided with tracks (8). Rail parts (10) of the guide rail (1), which are arranged one behind another, are joined together with the aid of connecting elements (13, 21) while a clamping element (19a) is provided for bracing the joined rail parts (10) against each other.
