<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove matter sticking to the back of the leading end of a doctor blade, without inhibiting the movement of a cleaning tool even if a member inhibiting the movement is oppositely disposed on part of a developing roller. <P>SOLUTION: A part of the main body of the cleaning tool is inserted in a doctor gap so that a contact part 100C is in contact with the back of the leading end of the doctor blade 57. In this condition, the main body of the cleaning tool is moved along the doctor gap, thereby removing matter sticking to the back of the leading end of the doctor blade. On this movement, the side edge 100E of a free end 100B comes into contact with a partition (movement inhibiting member) 58. However, the inclination of the side edge and the flexure of the free end allow the free end to enter a space between the partition and the developing roller 51. Accordingly, without inhibiting the movement of the cleaning tool, the back of the leading end of the doctor blade can be cleaned by the contact part of the cleaning tool. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
