PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a POF cable excellent in optical transmission characteristics and dimension stability even under the high temperature environment of about 100°C and suitable especially for mounting on a vehicle. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the plastic optical fiber cable, a coating layer whose innermost layer is composed of a polyamide-based resin is coated on a plastic optical fiber in a core-clad structure in which a resin forming the outermost layer of a clad part is a fluorine-containing olefinic resin containing a tetrafluoroethylene unit, whose crystal fusion heat in differential scanning calorimetry is≤40 mJ/mg, and then a warming processing is executed by immersing it in warm water of≥90°C.
