PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile capable of performing transmission while arranging the upper and lower sides of a document when a document to be transmitted is selected previously among a plurality of documents and copying or transmitting operation is carried out, or when data read out from the rear surface is transmitted, as it is, to a receiver capable only of single side printing. SOLUTION: When the black character rate of a document is not higher than a specified value in the facsimile 10, a white sheet page can be exempted from being copied or transmitted. When the receiving side has no perfecting function, transmission of white sheet page is omitted.
