PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which a special configuration such as a cleaning mechanism or a voltage application circuit is not used, miniaturization is easily realized, and image irregularity caused by electrostatic scattering of toner and offset during fixing can be prevented at low costs, and to provide pressing members used for the fixing device. SOLUTION: The pressing members 1 and 2 having electrically-resistant pressing faces 1a and 2a are used for the fixing device 3 which heats and presses a recording medium with toner transferred thereto, thereby fixing the toner to the recording medium. The pressing members 1 and 2 press the recording medium while moving in close contact with the recording medium. In the pressing members 1 and 2, fine powder that is the same as or near to at least one of the addition agents of the toner in terms of order in an electrification sequence is applied to pressing faces 1a and 2a. It is suitable that the fine powder be made of the same material as at least one of the addition agents of the toner. It is also suitable that the average particle diameter of the fine powder be 0.1μm or less and the amount of application thereof be 4.2 to 10 mg/cm<SP>2</SP>. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
