PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly usable lifting device by changing the position of a lifting rack in being used. SOLUTION: A side plate 7a of the lifting rack 2 is fixed with a linear slide rail 10a so as to lower in a forward and downward direction. A U-cross-sectional slide rail 8a is fixed at a position opposed to a slide rail 10a. The slide rail 10a is so attached as to freely slide in the slide rail 8a. The other side plate side of the lifting rack 2 is similarly constituted. When articles are stored in the lifting rack 2, a stopper 15 is released by the operation of a stopper handle 6 and the lifting rack 2 is pulled down with a handle 5 held in a user's hand. The slide rail 10a fixed to the lifting rack 2 is constantly slid along the inside of the slide rail 8a, so that the lifting rack 2 is drawably moved in the forward and downward direction where the slide rail 10 extends.
