A closed (or functionally closed) blood press pack comprising: a compressible bag for containing a blood sample during centrifugation; two or more leukocyte holding vessels in fluid communication with the compressible bag and disposed such that on compression of a filled and centrifuged bag in a bag press two or more discrete aliquots of a buffy coat layer are expressed into each of the two or more holding vessels.
