Method for controlling the flow of an operation in a motor vehicle, whereby at least a control unit (101) with at least a first processor (105) is used to control functions in the operation flow. At least a second processor (116) of an external, portable technical unit (114) is used as a coprocessor by connecting it to the control unit over connection means. When connected it can also be used to control the operation flow. Independent claims are also included for the following:- (a) a device for controlling an operation flow in a vehicle; (b) a portable external to the vehicle unit with at least an additional processor and; (c) a control unit for controlling operation flows in a vehicle.
