PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for inkjet recording with which high fastness and excellent quality images are recorded consistently for long period of time in any circumstances.

SOLUTION: The ink contains a polymer dispersant, a water-insoluble colorant, a water-soluble organic solvent and water. The polymer dispersant is a block copolymer consisting of at least one kind of hydrophobic block and at least one kind of hydrophilic block. Each of the blocks is constituted of a vinyl ether. The water-soluble organic solvent contains at least a cyclic ether.
