发明名称 METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING POROUS ELECTRODE WIRE FOR ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINING
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode wire for electrical discharge machining increasing surface area of the electrode wire, increasing contact area with machining liquid at the time of electric discharge machining, and improving the machining speed by further increasing cooling speed. SOLUTION: This method relates to manufacturing of the electrode wire to be used in an electric discharge machine. A wire made of first metal containing copper and constituted of a first diameter is prepared. The wire is passed in a plating tank in which second metal having a vaporization temperature lower than that of the first metal is molten for fixed time and is cooled in the air. An alloy layer having higher hardness and a lower elongation percentage than those of the first metal and second metal is formed by a diffusion reaction of the first metal and second metal on the surface of the wire. On the alloy layer, a plating layer made of the second metal is formed. After being cooled in the air, the wire formed with the alloy layer and the plating layer is elongated to have a second diameter. Cracks are developed on the alloy layer and the plating layer by the high hardness and the low elongation percentage of the alloy layer to increase the surface area. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
