PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform directional control of a container to be oriented in a direction suited for inspection, when inspecting the inspection device of a liquid-filled container (plastic bottle and ampule bottle) on a rotating inspection rotor. SOLUTION: A number of motors M are arranged regularly on the inspection rotor 1. The motor M can be rotated, independently of the rotation of an inspection rotor 1. Containers 20 to be inspected are successively thrown onto a placement table 29 of the motor M for restriction. The motor M is rotated at a certain position, and the side of the container is photographed by a camera 2 during rotation. The photograph is subjected to image processing to find the direction of the container 20. A motor control section 16 rotates the container 20 in a direction suited for inspection at an inspection section 8 for setting to an optimum inspection angle. After that, the inspection section 8 photographs the image of the container including the internal liquid, and an image processing section 17 detects a foreign matter in the liquid by processing this image.
