PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus suitably used for a mobile phone system and a personal handyphone system or the like and for relaying wireless communication adopting a multiple access system between a base station and a terminal station that reduces a time required for establishing channels. SOLUTION: In a wireless relaying method employing control sections 28, 29 for controlling wireless circuits 24, 25 individually corresponding to the base station and the terminal station, when the control sections receive channel establishing requests from the terminal station, in order to avoid the duplicate selection of a channel in use between the base station and the terminal station, the control sections of prior arts have carried out channel establishing processings with the base station according to channel assignment from the base station and thereafter have performed channel establishing processings with the terminal station on one hand, the control sections disclosed herein carry out the processings such that while the control section 28 corresponding to the base station carries out the channel establishing processing with the base station, the control section 29 corresponding to the terminal station carries out channel monitor processing with the terminal station on the other hand. Thus, the channel monitor processing requiring the greatest amount of a time can be processed in parallel with the channel establishing processing so that the time required for the channel establishing processing with the terminal station can considerably be reduced.
