PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high-image quality zooming having a simple configuration, in a digital camera with a zooming function. SOLUTION: The camera 15 of a cellular phone 10 with a camera is provided with a retraction-detecting sensor 43 and an insertion-detecting sensor 44 for detecting inserting/detaching of a bifocal photographic lens 16, an electronic zooming processor 51a, and a conversion lens 42. If the total zooming magnification factor reaches the inserting/detaching point by zooming the camera toward the telescope side, the output signal of the sensor 43 turns from "H" to "L", a freezed image photographed immediately, before is read from a frame memory 52, and the read image is displayed as a through image on an LCD 20. The output signal of the sensor 44 turns from "L" to "H", immediately after the completion of inserting the conversion lens 42, the display of the freezed image is stopped, and a new photographed image is displayed on the LCD 20.
