PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the difference of the level of the current flowing through respective positions in a luminous region in an organic electroluminescence (EL) device. SOLUTION: An organic EL device 1 is formed on a substrate 2 in the order of an positive electrode 10, an organic layer 20 and a negative electrode 30. The positive electrode 10 is formed of material with volume resistivity higher than that of the negative electrode 30, and the organic layer 20 is disposed between the positive and negative electrodes 10, 30. The positive electrode 10 has a nearly rectangular electrode area 13 contacting with the organic layer 20, a terminal part 11 disposed at a position along the outer periphery of the area 13 and connected to an external drive circuit, and an conductive part 12. The conductive part 12 is composed of a connection part 12b connected to the terminal part 11, and a conductive main body 12c having a connection part 12a to be connected with an electrode area 13, electrically connecting both connection parts 12a, 12b to each other, not electrically connecting to the areas 13 and the terminal part 11 directly.
