PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for increasing sensitivity, decreasing fog and improving storage property of a silver halide photographic light-sensitive material, in particular, a means for suppressing an increase in the fog during storage. SOLUTION: The silver halide emulsion is chemically amplified by a compound expressed by general formula (1). In formula (1): Ch represents a sulfur atom, a selenium atom or a tellurium atom; R<SP>1</SP>represents an alkyl group, alkenyl group, alkynyl group, aryl group or heterocyclic group; each of R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>represents a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, alkenyl group, alkynyl group, aryl group or heterocyclic group; A represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; and X represents an acyl group, alkoxycarbonyl group, aryloxycarbonyl group or carbamoyl group.
