PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and nondestructively measure the quality of even metal coins, of which the metallic composition is made of three or more types of known elements. SOLUTION: A sample is mounted to a sample holder 6 suspended from a balance 1. A heater 9 provided in a water tank 5 is controlled by a temperature control device 3 to control the water temperature in the water tank 5. Weight measurements are performed in the air and in the water at a plurality of set temperatures, by moving the water tank in vertical directions at each set temperature controlled by the temperature control device.
