PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake device, favorably installed to a vehicle, facilitating a clearance adjustment after installation, and preventing generation of over-adjustment. SOLUTION: This automatic clearance adjusting device 20 automatically adjusts the position of brake shoes 3, 4 according to abrasion. The device includes: an adjust gear 23 rotatable according to the expansion amount of the brake shoes; a strut receiving plate 25 for driving a strut 27 rotated in a body with the adjust gear 23 to limit the positions of the brake shoes 3, 4; and an adjuster regulating lever 33 for regulating the rotation of the adjuster gear 2 according to the pressing force of a wheel cylinder 6 expanding the paired brake shoes 3, 4.
