PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturizable linear solenoid and a solenoid valve, with increased attraction force while having excellent reliability providing linear characteristics. SOLUTION: An annular attracting part 22 is designed so that a peripheral tapered part 22a with diameter reduced toward a plunger 1 side is formed on a periphery and an inner circumferential tapered part 22b with diameter enlarged toward the plunger 1 side is formed on an inner circumference. A plunger 1 is designed so that an attracting tapered part 1a inclined equal to the inner circumferential tapered part 22b of the annular attracting part 22 is formed on a center post 2 side periphery. Magnetic flux is passed between the inner circumferential tapered part 22b of the annular attracting part 22 and the attracting tapered part 1a of the plunger 1, therefore, magnetic force M1 increases an axial component, to provide large attraction F.
