PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refuse reducing vessel allowing bellows for compression to return to their original condition from a compression condition in a short time even when using a pump having small flow rate and reducing refuse by repeated compression of refuse in a short time. SOLUTION: This refuse reducing vessel is provided with a refuse storage device 5, the expansible bellows 1 for compression, a compression plate 2, the pump 3 for supplying air to the bellows 1 for compression when compressing refuse, a tank 4, a first pipe 6 connecting the bellows 1 for compression with the pump 3, a second pipe 7 connecting the pump 3 with the tank 4, a third pipe 8 connecting the tank 4 with the bellows 1 for compression, and a change-over valve 9 provided on the halfway of the third pipe 8. The change-over valve 9 is closed when compressing refuse by feeding air by the pump 3, pressure in the tank 4 is reduced, and the bellows 1 for compression are contracted. The change-over valve 9 is opened to return to a condition before compressing refuse, and air in the bellows 1 for compression is fed out into the tank 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
