PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight hose for a vacuum cleaner which embodies the nonuse of PVC while maintaining the flexibility equal to that of the conventional PVC hoses. SOLUTION: This hose for a vacuum cleaner is formed by joining a rigid helical reinforcing body to the hose wall consisting of a soft synthetic resin to retain its shape. The hose wall is formed of a polyurethane based thermoplastic elastomer (TPU). The rigid helical reinforcing body is formed by depositing a resin coat layer consisting of a TPU with a hardness higher than that of the TPU forming the hose wall onto a rigid steel wire.
