PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely move a preliminary seedling placing part and a supporting frame to an operation position and a supply position and to readily carry out the operation of a locking mechanism and the movement of the preliminary seedling placing part and the supporting frame to the supply operation when a preliminary seedling stand structure for a riding type rice transplanter is equipped with the locking mechanism. SOLUTION: The preliminary seedling stand structure for the riding type rice transplanter is equipped with the preliminary seedling placing part 39 and the supporting frame 33 movable to the operation position A1 and the front supply position and the locking mechanism for retaining the preliminary seedling placing part 39 and the supporting frame 33 and releasing the retention. The supporting frame 33 is equipped with an operation device 46 that is artificially operated so as to operate the locking mechanism in a retained state and in a released retention state. In the operation position A1 of the preliminary seedling placing part 39 and the supporting frame 33, the operation device 46 is located at approximately the same height as that of the operation handle 11 of an operation part 3 on a side view.
