<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save the energy for bulk paper feed equipment, including the bulk paper feed equipment with an intermediate conveyance part, or bulk paper delivery equipment. <P>SOLUTION: On the occasion of shifting to a paper feed energy saving mode in the case when paper is present in the intermediate conveyance part 4, a control device 85A makes backup RAM 94 store data on a paper size and controls a pulse generation circuit 96 so that power supply from a power source be turned on only for a sensor 50 detecting the paper size and needed at the minimum for retaining the data on the paper size out of 1st-8th sensors 50-1 to 50-8, while controlling a relay 95 so that the power supply to an energy saving portion 144 be turned off.
