<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the assembling process of a lighting fixture to thereby reduce its manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: A ballast housing portion 24 is provided at a center portion of a circular-plate-shaped fixture body 12. An electric component 15 is mounted onto the fixture body 12 from above while an opening 27 of the ballast housing portion 24 faces upward, and a ballast 14 is inserted to the ballast housing portion 24 to thereby mount a lamp socket body 16. A filler 58 is charged into the ballast housing portion 24 and hardened to fix the ballast 14 to the fixture body 12. Then, a cover 17 is laid over the fixture body 12 from above and fastened with screws. This eliminates the need for turning over the heavy fixture body 10 when assembling the lighting fixture 10, and allows the lighting fixture 10 to be assembled through working in one direction.
